Ernesto Huezo holds a Master´s degree in Financial Economics from Loughborough University in England and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Sophia University in Tokyo. After 8 years of working for the Central Bank of Nicaragua where he held several positions and leading the Financial Analysis Department he was later invited to become Head of Risk at the Superintendency of Bank of Nicaragua for 3 years. In 2005, he was offered to become Chief Risk Officer of BANPRO, a bank member of Grupo Promerica. From 2010 he also held the position of Chief Risk Officer of Grupo Promerica where he developed and coordinated the implementation of group-wide risk policies, procedures and best practices. In late 2017 he was offered to become Grupo Promerica´s Chief AML Officer with a clear objective of developing and implementing a strong compliance culture and program in every bank.
