Patrick Leary is a Senior Vice President for the Financial Crimes Risk and Compliance team at Wells Fargo where he is responsible for advising the firm’s Corporate and Investment Banking business on anti-money laundering and sanctions matters. Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2017, Patrick worked in the general counsel’s office of a large New York based investment bank where he advised their businesses on various AML and sanctions issues. He began his career as a regulatory attorney with the U.S. CFTC and then with FINRA (NASD) where he was a member of the team that developed NASD’s first AML Program Rule for its broker dealer member firms under the USA PATRIOT Act. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, New York Law School, and Georgetown University Law School. In his spare time Patrick is a competitive swimmer and volunteers for the NYC Bar Association’s Veterans Assistance Project, by providing pro bono legal services to U.S. veterans in need.
